Are free electronic signatures legally binding?
Signatures collected through PearSign are intended to be legally binding under the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA — the same statutes that govern electronic signatures generally. Being on the free plan does not change the legal standing of the signature, and does not remove the certificate of completion or the audit trail.
What happens when I use all my free envelopes?
Sending pauses until the month resets, or you can move to a paid plan. Nothing already signed is affected, and documents you have already completed stay available. There is no automatic charge, because no card is held.
Do I need an account to sign a document someone sends me?
No. Recipients sign from a secure link in a browser or on a phone with no account and no download. Only the person sending the document needs an account.
